Full Sails shows the output of computer weather models. Forecasts can be wrong, especially near coasts and islands, in thunderstorms, and in local winds that a global model cannot resolve. Routes calculated by Full Sails are suggestions based on those forecasts and on generic boat performance; they do not know your boat, your crew, the depth of the water, traffic, restricted areas or anything else a navigator must.

Full Sails is not a substitute for official marine forecasts and warnings, NAVTEX and VHF weather bulletins, up-to-date nautical charts, or the skipper’s own judgement. The skipper alone is responsible for the safety of the vessel and the people on board. Official marine forecasts for every sea area are available from the WMO GMDSS marine weather service and your national meteorological service.

Terms of use

Full Sails is currently free to use and requires no account. By using it you agree to these terms.

• We provide Full Sails as it is and as available. We work to keep the forecast current and the service running, but we cannot promise that it is always available, complete or free of errors.
• To the extent permitted by law, Code Horizon AB is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the forecasts or routes shown. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under applicable consumer and product liability legislation.
• Do not use Full Sails in a way that disrupts the service for others, for example by automated bulk requests to the forecast or routing endpoints.
• If we introduce paid features, we will describe them, their price and your rights (including your right of withdrawal) clearly before you buy anything.
• These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

Data sources and licences

• Weather, waves and ocean currents: ECMWF IFS open data, © ECMWF, licensed under CC BY 4.0 (data.ecmwf.int/forecasts). Full Sails has modified the data: it is regridded, interpolated in space and time, and converted into speeds, directions and derived values. ECMWF does not endorse Full Sails, and ECMWF is not responsible for any errors in the modified data.
• Base map: © Mapbox, © OpenStreetMap contributors.
• Coastline used for routing, and anchorages: derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The derived coastline tiles and anchorage list are made available under the same licence; write to us if you would like a copy.
• Fonts: Inter and Outfit, under the SIL Open Font License, served from our own server.

Accessibility

We want Full Sails to be usable by everyone. The animated map is visual by nature; every value it shows can also be read as text by tapping a point on the chart. If something does not work for you, tell us at info@codehorizon.se.

“Full Sails” is used by Code Horizon AB as the name of this service. ECMWF, Mapbox and OpenStreetMap are named only to credit their data; their use does not imply endorsement.
