25 September 2026

• Five times sharper wind over the Mediterranean, European Atlantic and Caribbean. Where the forecast has a half-degree grid, the map and the router now use it instead of the 2.5° global one — island gaps, capes and the Meltemi's acceleration zones show up.
• A home page. fullsailsapp.com now explains what Full Sails does before you open the map, which has moved to /map/.
• Deutsch, Français, Español. The map, the planner and the website now speak German, French and Spanish as well as English.
• Sailing area guides. Local winds explained, with a live three-day forecast, for ten popular cruising areas — starting with Split, the Cyclades and the Strait of Bonifacio.
• Sheltered anchorages. Switch on anchorages and see, night by night, which bays are protected from the forecast wind and swell.
• Charter week planner. Pick a base and a week, and get a loop of day hops with a sheltered anchorage for every night.
• Shareable links. The address bar now holds the map position, time and layer, so the view you share is the view your crew opens.
• Clear warnings. If the forecast cannot be loaded or has not been updated for more than a day, a banner says so. The map no longer shows simulated wind when real data is missing.
• Credits and safety. The ECMWF data licence is credited on the map, the chart says plainly that it is not for navigation, and there is a legal notice and a privacy policy.
• Lighter and more private. Fonts and map styles are served from our own server, the animation calms down for people who ask their device for reduced motion, and high-resolution phones spend less battery on it.

• Full-screen app mode on phones, and installing Full Sails on the Home Screen.
• Route smoothing, and a regression suite that replays known passages on a frozen forecast.

• Weather routing: fastest, calmest or least-motoring route for four boat profiles, around the coastline.
• Best departure window across the forecast.
• Waves, swell, currents, rain, cloud, thunderstorm energy, pressure and air temperature layers.
• ECMWF IFS forecast pulled directly from ECMWF's open data, 15 days ahead.
