Wind forecast for The Cyclades
Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and the islands around them sit in the heart of the Meltemi. In July and August expect days of force 5–7 from the north, stronger in the channels between islands and off their southern capes, where the wind wraps round and gusts. Spring and early autumn are gentler and more varied.
Plan to sail south and east with the wind and head north in the calmer early morning. South-facing bays give shelter from the Meltemi, but watch for gusts falling off the high ground behind them.

The summer north wind of the Aegean, strongest in July and August. It commonly blows force 5–7 for days on end, peaks in the afternoon and accelerates hard between islands and off capes. Plan passages south with it, and north early in the day.
