Wind forecast for Dubrovnik & the Elaphiti Islands
The southern end of the Croatian coast, with the Elaphiti Islands, Mljet and Korčula to the north-west. The open Adriatic lies to the south-west, so a Jugo here brings more swell than further north. Summer afternoons usually bring a north-westerly breeze; the Bora comes less often than around Split, but is still gusty close to the mountains.
The Elaphiti Islands have anchorages for almost every wind direction — the trick is picking the right side of the right island each night.

Maestral from NW
The Adriatic summer sea breeze: a steady north-westerly that fills in late morning, blows force 3–5 through the afternoon and dies around sunset. The classic sailing wind of a charter week.
Jugo (Scirocco) from SE
Warm, humid south-easterly that builds over a day or two, bringing cloud, rain and a long, heavy sea up the Adriatic. Harbours and anchorages open to the south-east become uncomfortable or dangerous.
Bora from NE
Cold, dry north-easterly that falls off the mountains in violent gusts, often twice the mean wind. It can arrive within minutes under a clear sky, most often in winter but also in summer. Strongest close under high coast, calmer offshore.
