Wind forecast for Hyères & the Côte d’Azur

From Marseille past Toulon and the Îles d’Hyères to Saint-Tropez, this coast lives by the Mistral. When it blows — often for three days or more — it is cold, clear and strong, at its worst west of Toulon and around Porquerolles. On quiet summer days, sea breezes fill in along the coast in the afternoon.

East of Cannes the mountains shelter the Riviera and the Mistral arrives much weaker. The Îles d’Hyères have bays on their south sides that give good shelter from it.
